Finding A Good Dealer For Used Cars Portland
Filed Under (Articles) by Chip

Used cars Portland are available from lots of different outlets.  But that doesn’t necessarily mean that every single outlet is a good one to visit.  And in addition your nearest place to buy a used car from may not be the best place out of all the ones you could pick.

Finding a good dealer is a very important part of buying a used car.  You need to find someone you can trust who will give you a good deal as well.  Ask around and find out where people you know bought their used cars Portland from.  Is there anywhere they keep going back to?  Find out which places they like and which ones they aren’t happy with.  This will give you an idea of where to go to yourself.

Ideally you might want to start by narrowing your choices down to two or three outlets to buy a used car from.  If you narrow it right down to just one to begin with, you will be limited to the cars they have in stock.  And if they don’t have exactly what you want you might be tempted to opt for something that won’t meet your needs.

Take your time in looking around as well – don’t jump on the first deal you see.  It’s easy to let your heart get in the way of making the right decision but you shouldn’t let this happen if you can help it.  Yes, there is a chance that if you go away and think about what car would be the best choice for you that you could miss out as someone else might buy it.  But it is probably more likely that you would be tempted to buy one of the used cars Portland too quickly – and make the wrong decision for you as a result.

When you do find a good dealer and a potential car to buy, make sure you take it for a test drive before doing anything else.  All good dealers should offer you this opportunity, and if they don’t you would be advised to go elsewhere.  You just never know what you are buying into otherwise.

In short, it pays to find out as much as you can about a dealer before thinking about striking up a deal with them.  There are lots of places to buy used cars Portland from, so don’t feel cornered into buying from the place that is just around the corner from you.  Instead, think about looking slightly further afield to find the best dealer with the best cars and the best deals.  It might be slightly inconvenient to have to travel further to find a good deal, but there are plenty of used cars Portland available.  It’s always better to find a good dealer than to stick with a local one just for convenience’s sake.

So are you ready to go shopping yet?  Check out the dealers in your area and beyond, and you’ll see how many used cars Portland there are to choose from.

Women’s Motorcycle Jackets are Practical and Fashionable
Filed Under (Articles) by Chip

Every biker knows that when it comes to motorcycle accessories and attire that it’s all about style. People don’t generally wear black leather to work or for a night on the town unless there is a motorcycle in the mix. Part of the biking experience is donning the leather motorcycle jacket and chaps and riding with a group of friends.

As far as safety is concerned, the concept of motorcycle attire for women is not much different from what men wear. Ladies motorcycle jackets include all the ventilation, storage, temperature control, and padding features that are available in the men’s jackets. However, manufactures recognize that motorcycle accessories for women need to be multipurpose. This means that they can wear their motorcycle attire while riding and as fashion wear in any other venue. Therefore, with women’s motorcycle jackets, much more emphasis is placed on modern trends and styles. There is more variety in designs and colors that women can choose to match their personal fashion tastes and personalities.

Aside from the style and fashions aspect, there is a practical side to the design of women’s motorcycle jackets. With the brighter colors and designs, women are more visible and motorists are more inclined to notice bikers which can effectively reduce accidents. Ladies often like to make a statement with the outfits they wear. This concept applies equally to motorcycle attire. One lady who rides is a breast cancer survivor so she wears a pink motorcycle jacket. Many of her motorcycle accessories and helmet are also pink. Another lady who was reluctant to even climb on a motorcycle for years recently started riding with her husband. Her favorite color happens to be blue so that’s the color of motorcycle jacket she chose.

Because motorcycle jackets are form-fitting on both men and women, it can be a challenge to find one that fits properly. It’s rarely a small, medium, and large off-the-rack fit. Some experts have suggested that women try using belts around the tapered part of the jacket or at least trying one with an elastic section in the waist area. This helps keep the jacket in place and not ride up on the torso.

Style is top priority for women’s motorcycle jackets, but material quality and durability are a must when purchasing motorcycle attire. Because the clothing is exposed to various temperatures and high winds, you want to make sure that the jacket material (especially the seams) can withstand that kind of use. The top quality leather jackets and accessories are more costly than their mesh and fabric counterparts, but it’s a worthwhile investment that will enhance the biking experience.

Historically, women didn’t have many options for the motorcycle accessories and apparel to wear if they wanted to climb onto a motorcycle. However, more women are riding their own bikes and creating a demand for stylish and practical attire that is not reserved for only riding. Fortunately, motorcycle jacket designers and manufacturers continue to devote time and effort to keeping up with the latest trends and techniques of designing motorcycle attire and accessories.

Motorbikes at the Movies

From Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper riding through America to Marlon Brando and his motorbike gang terrorising the locals, the movie industry has created some of the most iconic motorbikes. So what are the most iconic motorbike moments in movie history?

The first movie that has to be mentioned is Easy Rider, the custom bikes that were built by chopper builders Cliff Vaughs and Ben Hardy created a truly iconic motorbike.  Using former police Harley Davidson Hydra-Glide’s they were custom built with Peter Fondas bike decorated with the iconic ‘Stars and Stripes’.

Before Marlon Brando got old and overweight he was the star of the classic motorbike movie. The Triumph Thunderbird 650cc belonged to Brando himself.  Brando and the other members of the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club terrorised a small town. The town was based on Hollister riots where a biker gang invaded the small town of Hollister in California.  The movie poster of Brand resting on his Triumph is a truly iconic picture.

Quadrophenia , based on The Who rock opera of the same name, was set in 1964 when the mods and the rockers were waging wars against one another. ‘Proper’ bikers may baulk at the puny Lambretta scooter. However an iconic film on British Culture presented an iconic ‘motorbike’. When the ‘scooter for sale’ sign went up the famous Lambretta it sold for £36,000.

The Great Escape did not feature motorbikes heavily but the scene where Steve McQueen races to the Swiss border in his TT Special 650 Triumph is a fantastic moment. The pursuit by the German soldiers is a heart-racing scene and the glorious jump over the fence is certainly one of the great motorbike movie moments. McQueen actually attempted the jump over the fence himself but crashed. Luckily they had motorcycle spares and McQueens stunt double succeeded.

Film has provided the most famous of motorbikes moments in memory and greatly improved the sales of particular models.

Bill James has been working in the advertising industry for over 15 years. He enjoys writing pets and motorbikes, especially interesting motorcycle spares.
